We can work with a wide range of outdoor spaces and love showing schools new ways to make the most of what they already have. For this particular workshop, we do need a small grassy area—but even a narrow verge is enough, so please don’t worry if most of your outdoor space is concrete.
All we ask is that the area we’re using can be cordoned off during break and lunch times, so the day can run smoothly from start to finish.
Your workshop leader will keep an eye on the weather in the days leading up to your booking. If heavy rain, strong winds, or storms are expected, they’ll get in touch via email 1–2 days beforehand to rearrange your workshop for the nearest possible date—working around the weather and our availability to find the best fit.
Nope—there’s no prep needed from you! We’ll arrive with everything ready to go, including all the natural resources your class will need, so you can enjoy a stress-free day.
All we ask is that the school is ready to host us: please make sure there’s suitable parking for your workshop leader and easy access to the outdoor space (our resource trolleys are on wheels!). We’ll also need access to the building to fill up water when needed. It’s helpful if reception staff are expecting us to sign in and can point us in the right direction.
Thanks so much—we can’t wait to get started!
Yes, your usual classroom staff will need to join the workshop. While our workshop leaders are experienced in working with a wide range of children, no one knows your class like you do. Having familiar adults present helps us ensure the session runs smoothly and allows us to give the best support—especially when it comes to behaviour and any additional needs.
We see it as a team effort and really value your input on the day!
Bring this topic to life with our hands-on, outdoor wattle & daub workshop—an unforgettable, muddy adventure that weaves history, science, and D&T into your school grounds!
Blast off into outdoor learning with our Neil Armstrong workshop—launch rockets, explore space, and bring maths, science, and history to life right on your school field!
Step back in time and explore the magic of Victorian seaside holidays through hands-on history, art, and D&T—right in your own outdoor space.
