During this outdoor lesson children will have the opportunity to explore animals in their outdoor area. They will have the opportunity to name, identify and group a variety of common animals including fish, amphibians, reptiles, birds and mammals.

Deliver an exciting, hands-on outdoor learning experience to teach your class all about carnivores, herbivores and omnivores. Excite the children by getting them to make a meal for an animal, as well as something slightly more unusual, using natural resources you have available in your outdoor learning space.

Describing the structure of a variety of common animals

Combine Science, Art, physical activity and nature in this outdoor lesson. Children get the opportunity to make their own animals out of natural loose parts and develop their scientific skills and vocabulary, by naming the structure and features of a variety of animals.

Knowing body parts and associated senses

Deepen your children’s understanding of the parts of the body and the senses in this immersive outdoor lesson. Children will have the time and space to explore their outdoor area and connect with nature using their senses, whilst learning the different human body parts and which senses are associated with each.
