From human line graphs to energy investigations and pledges for the planet, every lesson brings geography and science to life in an active, memorable way.

Lesson Plans

Identify and describe climate zone

In this varied outdoor lesson, your children will work collaboratively to show the main climate zones. They will research the average temperatures of cities across the world, presenting these as a line graph which they will interpret and base predictions on following discussion of the trends observed.

Learning objective:

To identify and describe climate zones

Understanding the effect of rising sea temperatures

In this outdoor lesson, your children will work together to create a human line graph! They’ll look closely at the change in sea temperatures in the UK and find out about a key issues relating to rising sea surface temperatures around the world.

Learning objective:

To understand the effect of rising sea levels

Understanding the drivers of climate change

Learning objective:

To identify and understand renewable and non-renewable energy sources

Investigating renewable energy sources

Using what they’ve learned and created in Lesson 4, your children will design their own investigation into the most suitable location for your renewable energy source in your school grounds. At the end of this outdoor lesson, they’ll present their findings to others and recommend how renewable energy could be used in school.

Learning objective:

To design and investigation into the most suitable location for a renewable energy source.
